Chairman & Primary Bishop
The Most Reverend Dr. D. Stevens, Sr.

The Sigillum Episcopus Color_edited_edit

If you asked him, David would confess that he has been destined for a life of service to the Lord since his birth. Growing up a preacher’s kid and remaining close to the church in his formative years as a young adult and later in the Marines, the path of David’s spiritual development has been marked with the interjections of God’s direct spiritual influence upon his life. One such interjection was expressed while Bishop Stevens was enjoying his career as a Marine when he very quietly received his call to ministry.

That initial yes opened David to God's plan for his life, catapulting him along a trajectory for ministerial and personal development, leadership training, mentorship, impartation, and succession. The next interjection of God’s direct influence was when he, being prompted by the Spirit of the Lord, ended his successful career as a Marine early with an honorable discharge as a Gunnery Sergeant of Marines, forgoing the six short years to retirement to submit to further development of the call on his life.

Being trained in matters of order and protocol and developed as a servant of the church by his senior leaders, David came to enjoy appointments within the Christians Equipping Christians for Outreach Fellowship, Inc. as Director of the School of Adjutancy as well as an appointment as the Overseer of Protocol. Later, in May of 2019, God’s direct influence was expressed again as General Overseer Stevens was consecrated to the Office of Bishop.  In 2021, Bishop Stevens began the work in his ministry that would become Enduring Mercy Christian Ministries whose mission is to Develop Servants, Mentor Disciples, and Strengthen the Prelature. The Lord brought the fullness of David’s purpose to bear by calling him to the Apostolate which he accepted in the fall of 2023 at the hand of Archbishop Dr. Jason E. Owen.

Academically, Bishop Stevens has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Religion: Biblical and Theological Studies as well as a Master of Divinity degree with a specialization in Leadership. Bishop Stevens has also obtained his doctorate as a Doctor of Ministry with a specialization in Ministry Leadership from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Bishop Stevens currently serves as Chairman and Primary Bishop of Enduring Mercy Christian Ministries, Inc., which serves to promote the Great Commission by equipping disciples, ministers, and leaders of the church to fulfill their call in Christ. In addition, His Excellency serves as Bishop of Protocol to Biblical Deliverance Ministries, Inc., New Life Gateway to Development Alliance, and episcopal consultant to a variety of ministries.

David is a devoted husband to his wife Devara, and a loving father to four natural sons, three stepdaughters, a variety of grandchildren, and those who regard him as father in the gospel.
